Benefits of Community

Membership is what makes this more than an online course. It’s what makes it a seminary. Maybe the biggest benefit of going to Seminary, just the same as any college or university, is the opportunity to build community. It’s getting to know your classmates, having important conversations, disagreeing passionately, but in love, and building life long connections with like minded brothers.

While nothing can replicate that experience exactly, here at Homeschool Seminary, we want that community. We know it’s valuable. And so, the membership area is where we find that. When you become a member, you gain access to the monthly community discussions. These will be based around doctrinal or theological issues, recent news stories that seem to have significant impact on the church, podcasts, books or any number of issues that could prove valuable in either refining our faith or sharpening it.

In the membership area I also want to provide a place for sermon critiques. This is another valuable part of traditional seminary. If you are going to preach, we want to help you make it great. Not only will sermon critiques help the preacher improve, but the process of critiquing others will help those offering the critiques.

Community prayer lists will be held in the membership area, book clubs or other things that I have thought of yet. Simply put, membership is where we get the community aspect of seminary, and we want you here.
